WATPA Web Support Committee Status
1/16/97

1. Separate Server: Patrick has established a separate server for
Westchester PathMaster™ so that we can develop, test and periodically revise
our site without interfering with WLS’s operations or security.

· MS Windows NT Server 4.0 and MS FrontPage ‘97 beta installed.
· Web content from PathMaster has been merged with the FrontPage functions.
· Patrick and Jack will shortly address linkage changes from the WLS server
to the new WATPA server.

2. Tuning PathMaster Content: Patrick and Cindy are working collaboratively
within FrontPage to upgrade the organization and functionality of our site.
While the initial objectives have been met, continual upgrade will be
required, particularly as new pages and sites are added (see 6 and 7, below)

3. Upgrading Graphics: Warren and Cindy have developed graphics that reflect
the growth and refocus on our Web site. Like the content tuning, the initial
objectives have been met, but continual review will be required.

4. Policy Requirements: Warren is working to implement the policy decisions
taken at the November monthly meeting to augment the client agreement form
and gain understanding from the senior client management in order to minimize
any potential misunderstandings. We still need to address the client request
for a 30 day cancellation statement.

5. New Web Sites and Pages: During the past month we have added material from
Teatown Reservation (over one year in preparation), Hadassah and HenHud.
Several of these now have FTP access in order to place the responsibility
for maintenance and upgade on them. The Volunteer Center has provided a
significant update to their existing site.

6. New Venues: New opportunities in Westchester Healthcare and Westchester
Emergency Preparedness are still germinating. Irene is working on a new
chapter of LWV and Bill is working on hosting the Village of Larchmont. Norm
will report separately on his work with the Westchester County Board of
Legislature.

7. FrontPage Training: As we discussed this summer, the installation of
Microsoft FrontPage provides an excellent vehicle for WATPA to train
volunteers and volunteer groups on the development and maintenance of
appropriate Web materials. This focus item has dropped in priority as the
need to address new sites and pages has developed.

8. Marketing and Promotion: We continue to recommend focusing on gaining
attention as each major new segment is released (i.e., KidsNet, Larchmont,
Westchester Legislature, etc.) -- possibly with a recap of previous releases
(LWV, ComNet, etc.).
