Please distribute the following announcement widely:

The Westchester Alliance For Telecommunications And Public Access =
(WATPA) is pleased to announce the presentation on the World Wide Web of =
the Westchester County (NY) League of Women Voter's Voter Guide for the =
fall elections. The location of the Voters Guide is =
http://www.watpa.org/lwv/lwvguide.html

Like the printed voter guide, it covers the backgrounds and answers to =
issues questions for all candidates for office -- from President down to =
local town candidates, including Congress, Judges and the state =
legislature -- as well propositions and referenda. It also shows the =
schedule of League sponsored debates.

While the printed Voter Guide's are useful in their own way and are =
mailed to every voting household in the County, this Internet =
presentation has advantages as well -- it won't get lost in "recycling", =
as it's always available, 24 hours a day from now until election day.

This presentation is a result of a joint effort with the League. While =
WATPA organized it for the World Wide Web, the LWV is responsible for =
editorial control and the collection of the data. =20

Only a few places in the country offer this kind of on-line guide and, =
as of now, this seems to be the only one in New York State. The site is =
laid out in an easy-to-use, visually pleasing way, which voters should =
find useful.

The Voters Guide is part of a general site for the LWV at:
http://www.watpa.org/lwv/lwvhome.html. This is also one of a number of =
free community information services (http:/www.watpa.org/county.html) =
which are designed and maintained by WATPA as a result of a joint =
project with the Westchester Library System, using WLS's Internet =
Server.
