The primacy of email in the Internet has held up over the last several
years, despite all of the Web activity.

Although I don't claim to be representative, I've seen a recent email trend

Almost all of my company's business communications are now through email. What's especially interesting is the replacement of fax by email (with file attachments) in almost all of our negotiations with customers and business partners. Obviously with email -- a simple form of "groupware" -- everyone gets to more easily edit the contract and negotiations come to a conclusion sooner.
