WATPA: Job Opening: Westchester Non-Profit Technology Council Outreach Coordinator

We don't normally post job opportunities, but the Westchester Non-Profit Technology Council (with which WATPA has a relationship) has received a grant from Verizon to allow them to hire a part-time person for outreach.  The job description follows.

Outreach Coordinator (part time)

This person will serve as the Outreach Coordinator for the “Providing Current and Timely Technology information to Westchester County Not-for-Profits” grant from the Verizon Foundation. The primary focus of the grant is to extend and maintain contact with Not-for-Profit agencies, funders, and members of the Westchester Not-for-Profit Technology Council in order to help member organizations and the WNTC better support the effective use of information technologies in not-for-profit and community-based organizations in Westchester County.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

·        Take responsibility for distributing the Technology questionnaire, entering data if necessary, following up with Not-for-Profits to increase survey participation, running database reports and sharing information.

·        Publicize WNTC and the WNTC portal

·        Provide outreach to Not-for-Profits to facilitate inclusion on the WNTC website

·        Collect information on those Not-for-Profits who do not have a web site or feel they need to improve their current web site.

·        Work with funding agencies who might want to be included on the WNTC web site

·        Gather other information to keep WNTC web site updated so that it provides useful information for the Westchester Not-for-Profit community

·        Monitor and report on the use of the WNTC web site

·        Assist the WNTC council to organize the WNTC forum

·        Send out announcements for WNTC meetings; take minutes at meetings; follow up and assist those responsible for carrying out WNTC activities

Position Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree

·        Minimum one year office experience

·        Flexible, detail-oriented

·        Excellent verbal/writing and telephone communications skills

·        Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

·        Working knowledge of MS Office applications and the Internet

·        Knowledge of database management preferred

·        Some knowledge of and experience with Not-for-Profit agencies preferred.
