Actually, there can be many units monitoring the conversation, but you need
to take turns to talk. To carry on a conversation with less voice traffic,
you just need to change the involved units to another channel. Because
this is limited the Family Radio Service (FRS) frequency, any brand of radio
using this frequency will work too. Many companies make them, you don't
need to purchase the same brand. Just like CB radio's, they have multiple
channels (this one has 14) and multiple interference eliminator codes (38,
similar to cordless phones in the house).
