Windows NT and WestNet Setting up a PPP Connection on Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 3.5 and 3.51 and Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.5 and 3.51 Introduction: Although Windows NT looks just like Windows 3.1 it doesn't act like it at all. To connect to the Internet using NT you must use Windows NT's Remote Access Service ("RAS"). These instructions cover how to configure RAS to work with WestNet and how to automate the logon procedure. NOTE: These instructions are only good for the versions listed above and are not guarenteed to work on version 4.0 which will be released this coming fall. For version 4.0, most likely, you should use the Windows 95 instructions. Refer to the version 4.0 documentation. 1. Install RAS in Windows NT. 2. Start the Remote Access client software either by using the program icon which can be found in the "Remote Access Service" program group. 3. Create a new RAS Phone Book entry by doing the following: a. Choose the Add button to create a new entry in the RAS Phone Book. b.
