There are a lot of things  happening to celebrate Veterans Day.
In the Phelm Grove section of the Bronx, N.Y. memorial wreath
ceremony, from 9:30-11:00 on November the 11th. Also the
Parade downtown is on the 11th. At the Bronx V.A. is a
motor cycle for Veterans at10 am on the 10th of October.
J.W.V. week is around the some time with may programs.

We still are fighting for housing for our Homeless Veterans.
There is a big problem in  this country, now one knows about
Veteran's needs. Ask a non veteran about our health care,
for veterans, they don't know.. The policitations are not
veterans and don't know. Write and tell your officials exactly
who uses the V.A. and how much it cost you. Everyone is not
getting free health care as they were told they would be getting
when they joined the service.
Women veterans when asked it there are veterans will say no.
If you then ask if they ever served in the military they will
then tell you all about it. Is it that they are all stupid or just
that services to Women are different from that of the Male
veteran. Did you know that a lot of the V.A.'s are closing down
medical wards. This will help to close the budget gap.
. Many elderly in New York area were sent home to relatives
who did not know how to take care of the veteran. There
were several death do to this happening. The Salvation army
has replaced some of the  hospital for veterans with new
programs. SRO for only veterans are using beds for
non-veterans. I do not believe that a dishornable
discharged veteran is a veteran. But then again the
definition of a veteran is not equal it its difination.I t differs from
state to state and federal government program to program.
The nurse in the Bronx is the primary Dr. for most  of
the women at this V.A. You need to be a drill sergeant when
you request a Dr. it can be done. The argument I hear is "well
even if she by law can't do all that a Dr. does some time
she knows more and does more then a regular Dr."
My answer is if you give me an inferior Dr. so that you can convince
me to use a to save the V.A. money. that foolish. Remember
when it was free you could not do anything for malpractice.
As long as they are charging for a service the must render
that service correctly.
There are other things to talk about. The women veterans was
set up to help the Women Veteran. While it is not working
now because several women Veterans who need the services
where not properly handled. I believe that its because they
are not veterans and don't understand the women veterans
and her needs.

The other problem is non veterans spouses and non spouses
using the V.A. How do you feel about it?
