Middlebury beat Bates and Colby this past weekend by identical scores of 16-5. The two games were similar in that our overall talent, balance and depth was too much for both teams. The games were a little different in that we were sharp right away against Bates on Saturday and a little lethargic early against Colby. We were only up 6-2 at the half , but had a great 3rd quarter to seal the victory. The victories sealed an undefeated season in NESCAC, which means we will receive the automatic bid to the playoffs. So, we are in automatically, we now have to wait until Sunday at 7:30 for the selections. Too many scenarios to venture a good guess at this point. However, I think we should be the second highest seed in the north behind Nazareth and get a first round home game on Wednesday, May 10 against a lower seeded northern team.

I am in my office with my two sick kids right now, so not a lot of details on the past weekend. I will keep you posted re: playoffs as news becomes available.
