Trinity Recap

Middlebury defeated Trinity 20-8 today.  We did exactly what we wanted on
offense, getting everybody involved, moving the ball and playing with more
energy off ball.  The result was 14 different players scored.  The highlight
of the day was the return of senior midfielder Peter Albro.  We thought that
Peter had fractured his leg again in the warm ups before the Tufts game
after only playing in the
Amherst game to that point in the season.  As it
turns out, he was OK and played great today, scoring 3 goals.  He gives us a
quick scoring threat in the midfield.  I have to run home before the dinner
tonight, so I will have to follow up with more details later.

Alumni game report

In a freak of history repeating itself once again, the Amazing Peter Kohn,
scored an unassisted goal to propel the alumni to victory in OT.  The goal
left fans asking, "when will they start inserting him into the lineup
earlier in the game?  They always hold off until it is almost too late, and
then he comes in, wins the face off, dodges everybody on both teams, leaving
them in shock on the field of battle, as he cranks home the winning goal
past a mesmerized goaltender!!!"

Other than Myron's game winning heroics, the Alumni Game saw the alums play
some great lacrosse against a talented Freshman and Sophomore Varsity team.
Bobo Sideli and Greg Wheeler represented the 70's (although we almost lost
them both in the pre-game to heart attacks when I announced "incidental
contact only"...Bobo because he was not sure what his role would be if he
could not hit-that rule went by the wayside for him on the first opportunity
to hit-and Wheels we almost lost to a joyful heart attack when he knew our
crew of 6'2+ Frosh/Soph defenders couldn't hit him! From Bobo and Wheels we
jumped to more recent alums: Todd Fryatt, Brandon Doyle, Ben Fritz, Jed
Raymond, Nick Whitman, Brian Nickel, Scott Leach, Andrew Gault, Jamie Haire,
Holt Hopkins, Steve O'Neil and our trainer Kelly Cray.  Despite enjoying the
Saturday night festivities the Alums played very well.  Thanks to all of
those who attended.  The Trinity game was also attended by Mike and Karin
Heffernan, Bob Harris along with his son and father, and Craig Westling with
his daughter. My apologies if I missed anyone.

If you attended dinner Saturday night and did not pay, please send a check
made to
Middlebury College for $25.00.

Williams game preview

Williams game on Wednesday.  They are right in the middle of the pack with
the rest of the league, some impressive wins but their fair share of losses
as well.  I think they are one of the more talented teams in the league,
though.  They have nice sticks on offense, good athletes on defense, solid
goaltending and an excellent face off middie.  We will focus on continuing
with the great possessions and shot distribution on offense and hope Brian
McGregor can repeat his dominant face off performance he had against Trinity
(21/28!)

Game time is
4:15 if you can get out of work.
