Before I head out to watch the NESCAC Championship game between Tufts and Wesleyan I wanted to shoot off a quick email about the game yesterday.    What an incredible day for lacrosse as the sun was beaming down and the temperature was in the mid-70's.  We had one of the best crowds I can remember on hand for the game and we certainly gave them plenty to cheer for in the 1st half of play.  Wesleyan came out and did a great job in the 2nd half of pressuring us with their ride and controlled the tempo for the last 30 minutes.  The one standout performance on our side came from Nate Gaudio who single handedly kept us in the game when Wesleyan dialed up the heat in their offensive end.   He made 8 saves in the fourth quarter alone, unfortunately we didn't give him much help in the 2nd half.

There's still an outside chance we receive an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament but that's out of our hands now.  I don't think any of us expected yesterday's game to be the last one of the season and thus it's been a difficult pill to swallow over the past 20 hours or so.

At the end of the day, this team and this senior class won't be defined by one lousy half of lacrosse.  To finish first in the NESCAC during the regular season from where we were a year ago is a remarkable accomplishment.  This team earned everything they got and if we're fortunate enough to continue our season going forward I know we'll make the most of it.
