Just a quick update here as I'm heading off to break down the film but we won the regular season championship today at home and clinched a first round bye in the NESCAC playoffs.  We'll be hosting the lowest remaining seed after tomorrow's games next Saturday at noon.

Our team has finally started playing a relentless style of lacrosse where our motors are going nonstop and we're forcing the tempo of the game on our opponent.  This has made a huge difference in the last two games and hopefully will continue through the playoffs.

Both teams came out in the 1st quarter with some nerves and threw the ball away quite a bit in the middle of the field.  Once things settled down our offense began to get some great looks at the cage.  Our defense handled their offense for the most part and was putting the ball on the ground all day long. Our close defense was excellent starting with James Guay who shut down their leading scorer, John Bambrick did a fantastic job of keeping their top goal scorer off the board and Glenn Bickley played a smart, physical game on their third attackman.   Pete Britt played his best game of the year and stifled the Tufts offense on numerous point blank shots and as always had the ball out of his stick immediately to get our fast break started.

Offensively Jim Cabrera had a day going 4 and 1, he's starting to play the way we thought he would in the midfield this year.  Beyond that it was a great team effort on offense.  Tufts played a tightly packed man to man defense almost resembling a zone where we needed to move the ball a few times before generating a good look, our guys executed our game plan pretty well and if it weren't for their goalie coming up with 14 saves we could have put a few more up on the board.

We'll know by tomorrow night who our semifinal match up will be on Saturday and look forward to having the NESCAC Championship being played in Vermont once again!
