The Panthers improved to 11-3 on the year by picking up another NESCAC win on Saturday against Trinity.  With the win we secured a home NESCAC quarterfinal game and have guaranteed we will be no lower than the #3 seed.    Overall it was a solid performance by our squad as we weren't as sharp as I was hoping we'd be, but still got the job done.

Defensively our standouts were Will Ernst in the cage and Nick Peterson at defensive midfield.  Both were on top of their game on the defensive end and Nick chipped in a goal in transition after being a little too excited during his first couple of trips down to the offensive end.

On offense we had another balanced scoring effort and ended up leaning heavily on our 2nd midfield line of Kyle Soroka (Game Ball - 1g, 2a), Chase Clymer (2g's), and Sean Carroll (2g's).  We're pleased with how these guys are playing as we hit the home stretch and hope they're ready for another big game down in Williamstown tonight.

We had an incredible showing of alumni back in the stands for the game on Saturday and then again on Sunday for the alumni game.  What a turnout, I'm going to try and attach a photo from the game on Sunday, hopefully it's not too large to go out on the list serve.  Either way I'm going to find out if Bobo can post it to our website.

The highlight of the weekend came from Roy Heffernan who was able to spend some time with the team on Friday and Saturday.  A big thanks goes out to Heff for the time he so generously gave to our team over the weekend and the message he delivered on Friday night. I believe it was very well received.  More than anything it was a pretty amazing experience to see Heff interacting with our team on the walk out to the field, during warm ups, and on the sideline during the game.  We always talk about how special our program is and to see different generations of Panthers together like that was about as good as it gets.

We leave for Williams in a few hours and look forward to the opportunity to bring the Thomsen Trophy back to VT!  Game time is 6pm.
