Just wrapping up a great day of lacrosse and wanted to get a few quick thoughts out to everyone.

Once again our goalies were excellent, Charles Ward and Ryan Deane are both making a ton of saves and getting the ball out on the break quickly.   We're going to have a tough decision to make there...

Defensively our group has shown improvement each week and leading the way are close defensemen Henry Clark, Charlie Schopp, and Matt Rayner.  At long stick midfield both John Duvnjak  and Zach Dayno did a nice job on the wing on face offs and came up with some big gb's.

Defensive middies Matt Virtue, Alex Giammarco, and Alex Englert all looked good on ball today and handled the ball well in transition.

Offensively we were pretty balanced in terms of our scoring. I do think our starting attack group of Pete Smith, Jack Balaban, and Tim Cahill could develop into one of the best units we've had in some time.

In the midfield things are starting to take shape with some new faces in the mix.  Juniors Andrew Conner and David Hild are both shooting the ball with a little mustard on it right now.  David looks better and better at his new position every day and had a few big time plays today against Hamilton.  I'd like to keep David's move to the midfield under wraps through our opener against Bates next weekend, after that the word will definitely be out.

Typically we don't care about the scoreboard in a scrimmage situation but since we'll be Bates' 4th game of the year next week we decided to approach today's scrimmages as if they were the real thing.  We played our starters for the first three quarters of each scrimmage and had a very comfortable lead in each when we took our foot off the gas.  We still have a lot of work to do this week but I'm much more encouraged about where we are after today's performances.

Up next:  3/13 @ Bates at 1pm.   Bates had a nice win over Keene State the other day and looks to be an improved team this year.   We'll definitely have our hands full up in Lewiston but I like where our team is at right now and after another week of practice I'd like to think we're going to be pretty tough to handle as well!  Can't wait.

Yeah Blue.
