Thanks for looking at my BattleZone. The same problems show up on a scope, so I know it's the game board. With my scope on 5v/div, the self-text box extends about +/- 8.5 volts. Switching to game mode, the gun site is centered, the mountains go to +9 v and down to -14 v. The B&W vector FAQ calls the X limit +/- 10v, so this sounds very wrong.

I've also made a movie of the screen, it's about 3.5 meg in Windows media format.

First, the test pattern. See how it is fairly well centered ?

Now a game screen. It's ok on the right, but the left side goes to the edge. As we'll see later, it's drawing on the side of the monitor.

Close-up of the OK side (not too useful)

Close-up of the bad side

** Update -- the following behavior is in fact normal. I just confirmed that in MAME. Apparently the background is put up in 'tiles', that are normally clipped to the left edge of the screen. Perhaps the failure is in the clipping ?
Sometimes, parts of the mountain disappear to the edge . . . .

. . . and reappear a few seconds later.

Here you can see it drawing on the side of the monitor
