Those who attended the December meeting had the opportunity to preview WATPA's
new WWW homepage. Amazing but true, the Web Support Committee delivered a
working homepage in one month. I personally applaud Pat Colvan and Mal Nechis
as new members for comittment and quick action.

The general feeling at the meeting was that the homepage project crystalizes
WATPA's mission in a real activity, and one with potential for promoting WATPA
to a much wider audience. It is incumbant upon every member to work to make the
latter a reality.

We are already preparing version two of the homepage to include WATPA's new logo
and a better overall look and feel. (I will attempt to mail a GIF file to
everyoone with the layout; watch for HOMEPAGE.GIF.) There is still a lot of work
to crank this into an ongoing and vibrant project. Mal chairs the Web support
committee and will be on top of the master plan.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT'S IN A NAME? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a marketing communication function, I will coordinate selection of a final
homepage name. We began with "Westchester Wired" but decided it was not quite
user friendly; we want to attract the un-initiated on both the content and user
sides. The current choice is "Westchester Info Depot" and fits our basic goal
of creating a virtual information depot for the county. PLEASE SEND ANY NEW
NAME SUGGESTIONS TO watpa@westnet.com or directly to me:
73510.500@compuserve.com. ASAP.

A Happy and healthy New Year to all. :-)
