While medical tourism is, according
<http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16296677> to NPR, a
large and growing threat to U.S. medicine, there's no way those foreigners
could start doing actual exams.

Is there?

There is. WebcamMD <http://www.webcammd.com/> claims it can deliver a full
medical examination through a properly-equipped computer connection.

The Toronto-based company released
<http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/November2007/14/c7623.html> its
first press release today, and promises a full presentation on December 6.
Its founder is Rob Tayler, best known for Sexynewyou
<http://healthcare.zdnet.com/www.sexynewyou.com/founder.html> , a weight
loss channel.

The chief medical officer is Dr. Agostino Cervone (above), who works at the
Peconic Surgical <http://www.peconicsurgicalgroup.com/Surgeons.html> Group
on Long Island, who is listed as both a general and laparoscopic
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laparoscopic_surgery> surgeon.

These must still be considered early days in this area, but if you can
perform a routine exam for someone in Newfoundland from, say Toronto, why
couldn't you also perform a routine exam for someone in Atlanta from, say,
New Delhi?
