Seems like the last few weeks have gotten worse. Many foreign sites are
still configured as open SMTP relays, and are being abused, plus we now have
the proliferation of people with DSL/Cable connections setting up servers
and not knowing how to do it.

Want to actually do something about it ? Take the time, and examine the
headers of the message. The trick is to figure out if a thried part open
relays was abused or not. This will tell you who to comlain to.

We subscribe to a service that blocks mail from known open relays, but
people have to report them

The link on exmaining headers is the real trick. It takes practice and
patience.
