Boeing signs agreement to provide passengers with high-speed Internet access

Agence France-Presse

NEW YORK (May 7, 2001 11:04 a.m. EDT) - Boeing said Monday that it has
signed an agreement to provide high-speed Internet access for airline
passengers on Boeing aircraft. Terms of the agreement with New York-based
ScreamingMedia were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the agreement, ScreamingMedia will provide licensed
content - including worldwide, national and local news, sports and
features - from more than 3,000 publications that will be delivered into the
service known as Connexion.

Passengers will have online access to local destination guides, restaurant
listings, hotel information, rental car and transportation information,
entertainment listings, cultural events and more, the two firms said in a
statement.

"This is an unprecedented deal in the content-solutions space - and an
enormous deal for ScreamingMedia and all our affiliates: our investors, our
providers, our current clients and our partners," said Kevin Clark, chief
executive officer of ScreamingMedia.

"This deal marks the first time a leading aerospace company will provide
real-time destination-based content on a massive scale."
