GET IN THE INTERNET'S FAST LANE!
WATPA's New Seminar Series Focuses On
Cablevision's Cable Modem Service

The Westchester Alliance For Telecommunications And Public Access (WATPA) along with its co-sponsors, the Westchester County Business Journal and the Westchester Library System, are pleased to announce another of its new series of presentations on getting faster access to the Internet. The presentation will be by Mr. Wilt Hildenbrand, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technology, Cablevision Systems. His expertise is widely recognized, including having been named Man of the Year by CED, the primary technical publication for the cable industry.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at 6 P.M. at the Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers. (Directions are attached.) Anyone who attends is eligible to win one of five free cable modems, worth $150 each.

Mr. Hildenbrand will discuss cable modem services, how fast they are, when they will be available in Westchester County and other topics of interest to those who use the Internet at home or work. This will be of special relevance to those in smaller businesses and home offices who have felt restricted by the relatively slow speeds of modem access to the Internet.

There will be a real time "hands-on" demonstration of cable modems and ample opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions. Also, for those interested in participating in WATPA's activities, the group will hold its normal business meeting following the end of the question and answer session.
Dr. Norman Jacknis, Chairman of WATPA, stated: "This presentation is a continuation of one of WATPA's primary missions for several years - providing information to the residents of Westchester County about how to get the most from the Internet."

WATPA is a non-profit, grass-roots, independent organization of Westchester residents interested in the Internet. Besides its educational activities, WATPA provides free web design and hosting for non-profit groups in Westchester in conjunction with the Westchester Library System.

PROGRAM NOTE: The presentation by Mr. Joseph Kowalski, Manager of Data Communications of Bell Atlantic, on DSL services has been rescheduled for 6 P.M., Thursday, March 16, 2000 in the Auditorium of the Ardsley Technology Park, 410 Saw Mill River Road, Ardsley.

DIRECTIONS TO HUDSON RIVER MUSEUM, YONKERS: Get on the Saw Mill River Parkway, from the Cross Westchester Expressway, Cross County Parkway or the Taconic/Sprain Parkway going to Exit 9. Get off at Exit 9, Executive Boulevard, Yonkers. Take Executive Boulevard to the end and make a left onto North Broadway. Take North Broadway to the first light and make a right onto Odell Avenue. Take Odell Avenue to the end and make a left onto Warburton Avenue. The Museum is then 1.3 miles on the right.
