RE: Proper mode for Static IP: Draytek 2800, Richmond, VA (Verizon)

We were told by Verizon that we have a "Static IP" and to simply assign
the modem as such in the configuration, with a VPI of 0 and VCI of 36,
and to choose "Routed Bridged" mode.

Can anyone down in VA Area confirm the 0/36 ? In the Northeast we are
0/35 so I just want to make sure.

My choices in the modem setup are as follows:

1483 Bridged IP LLC
1483 Routed IP LLC
1483 Bridged IP VC MUX
1483 Bridged IP VC MUX (IPoA)
1483 Bridged IP LLC (IPoE)

I assume this is a direct Verizon circuit ? If its static IP, I assume
its DPVC, which would be routed mode and not bridged. I would go with
the 1483 Routed IP LLC

A Verizon call center employee was not very helpful .....

I am very shocked to hear that a Verizon person was not helpful. Tsk

As a last resort, if someone in the Richmond, VA area can contract to
get this up for me I would greatly appreciate it. We have other Verizon
stores with working Westell-stamped modems and 3COM OfficeConnect VPN
routers, but this isn't as much of a hurry as this one particular
location which has had a few days of downtime.

Is it the Westell 2200 (I think) - NAT / Router device ? That would
confirm the Direct PVC

Hope this helps.

Eric
