The DS3 controller itself is typically configured M13 (may show as M23
in Cisco configuration) and is clocked from the line. Individual T1
circuits within it for data use are usually ESF/B8ZS, but this can be
different for each T1. Verizon in some areas and under some
circumstances charges more on a monthly basis for "clear channel"
B8ZS/ESF than for D4/AMI T1 loops. D4/AMI will reduce the data
throughput, not recommended for data.
