Re: Anyone attempt to remove phone service?

I've read Verizon material saying their policy is not to
allow dsl service without a phone number "yet".

Have you read the seemingly acquiescent John Dvorak
article on United Fruit banana republican paradigm
in voip? In his PC Mag column, John mentions that
in Canada, telco's are taking over voip by refusing
the local connect, and then he predicts we'll suffer
that depradation here.

Indonesia did that.

Anything bigco wants to do is fine with the current
United Fruit security administration.

I use packet8. Twenty bucks a month for a line,
long distance, caller id, two-line conferencing on
one line, call waiting, 911 for a fee and 411 for a
charge. I could have my 800 assigned to that, and
of course if not for banana republican FCC petting
obsolete dinosaurs, I could have my pots service
discontinued and even assign my pots number to
voip.

I talked to a business owner who "can't" get dsl. If
he could, he'd have to get "business" dsl. Just
maybe dsl can't go there because of interference
with t1, but I wonder if the "business" shakedown
for dsl isn't enough blood money from the family
grocery and health budget, the dinosaur wants to
bleed little shops for t1 charges.

As far as dsl isp's, it seems that the tariffs are set
up so if we try to use another fiber provider from
the wire connection, Verizon takes most of that
allotment by pricing.

The only way NYC got a subway past the railroads
was that one man had the money to build a vacuum
tube for people secretly. That broke the dam.

The railroads priced freight rates differently so as
to make it cheaper to ship Birmingham, Alabama,
iron and coal to New England, and back as products,
than to smelt and manufacture in Birmingham. How
convenient the myth of southern preference for
farming. At the beginning of WW2 FDR filed an
amicus brief in the Supreme Court to take that lid
off, but didn't get 100% equity there.

United Fruit murdered thousands of people thus
proven to be regarded as banana picking chattel
property, who would have been independent banana
farmers otherwise. That same struggle against the
chattel slavery concept of United Fruit paradigm
for banana republicanism goes on today. That
dinosaur with blood dripping from its teeth is
not reading magazines and saying oh goody, the
future is here, let's hurry up and facilitate voip.
