Zoom X5

We've been trying out the Zoom X5 DSL modem (with 4-port ethernet
switch) some; have recently discovered that it doesn't seem to sync up
as well as the Westells on lines that are marginal quality. Has anybody
else seen this, and if so, did you find a workaround? (if not, why not?
