The 3Mb service has been in various news reports for some months; I had
been wondering for a while if Verizon was going to let wholesalers in on
any of the plans, when the notice of the NYC thing arrived. Sure enough
it's one of the bullet items mentioned on the symposium invite, and
probably the main reason we want to attend.

Remote terminal rollout has been proceeding around here, actually.
(Even to the one near my house! woo hoo!). Not that everything
is rosy: there's still the whole issue of having to sell DSL for
about what we pay for it, while competing with VOL's endless
giveaways and apparent subsidizing of the product.
