Exhibitions

The Museum of the Central Bank of Costa Rica
will hold a retrospective exhibition of paintings, sculptures and etchings by Juan Luis Rodriguez through February 27,1996. For more information, call 223-0528.

The Cariari Gallery
is currently displaying a special Christmas collection of sculpture by William Castro. The exhibition will run until January 4. For more information call 239-0022.

Katya DeLuisa
holds a permanent collage exhibition in the lobby of the Hotel Del Rey. For more information, call 228-0078.

The Roberto Lizano Gallery
is holding an exhibition of paintings by Leonel Gonzalez entitled "Negras Negros." Through December 22. The gallery is located on Avenida 7, between calle 3 and 3 B, in Barrio Am6n. For more information call 222-0894.

The Second Biannual Exhibition of Sculpture
is being held in the National Gallery of the 'Children's Museum", San Jose through January 31. The exhibition features drawings and sculptures by artist Juan Manuel Sanchez, alongside works by contemporary Costa Rican artists.For directions and information call 257-3291. The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design will be presenting 'Viviencias," pen and ink drawings by Juan Brenes Vega and 'lmagine," stamps by Douglas McClellan through December 31.

Beetlejuice Gallery and Cafe
will be hosting a collection of works by English painter Barry Monk, including examples from his series. Transformations until Jan. 2. The cafe is located 250 meters south of the Presidential House, in front of the Escuela Napoleon Quesada, Zapote bus stop.

The Canadian Club of Costa Rica

The Annual All Canadian Club of Costa Rica
is hosting its annual Christmas lunch at Hotel Morazan on Sunday, December 17 at noon. All Canadians and friends are invited. The new Canadian Ambassador is expected to attend. American Legion Post 10's
Christmas Charity Fiesta will be held at noon on Sunday, December 17 and will include a barbecue and a live band. Admission is 900; proceeds go to needy families in Escazu. The English Connection

The Inter-Cultural Association

Amnestv International

The Backgammon Club of Costa Rica

The National Bridge Association of Costa Rica

The National Association for the Protection of Animals

The Women's Federation for World Peace
holds informative meetings on AIDS and family values and strives to promote Japanese/Costa Rican cultural exchange and worid peace. Classes in Origami and the principles of Oriental medicine are offered every Tuesday. The Badminton Association
