Alternative Lodging: Homestays

Homestays are probably the best way to get to know the lifestyle and culture of Costa Ricans. A bedroom in a pre-screened home of a hospitable Costa Ricans is offered for rental for your stay. Prices are usually $100-$200 per month including meals and laundry. Breakfast is provided by your hosts. Most of these homes are in the San Jose area.
