CONSUMABLE ONLINE TO CLOSE ITS VIRTUAL DOORS AUGUST 1, 2000

Internet's first music reviews publication ends its 7 year run

CONSUMABLE ONLINE (http://www.consumableonline.com), the Internet's first fully staffed music reviews publication, will cease operations effective August 1, 2000.

"After seven years of publication, we feel that our objectives have been achieved," stated Editor-In-Chief and founder Bob Gajarsky. "When CONSUMABLE first appeared on the Internet landscape, there were no publications that offered music reviews. We proved that not only would there be an audience for intelligent, well-articulated reviews, but that others would follow our lead onto the Internet. Now, it's impossible to find an entertainment publication *without* an Internet presence."

The final issue of CONSUMABLE ONLINE will be released on August 1 to commemorate its seventh anniversary. This issue will allow the readers a behind-the-scenes look at the publication - to learn about the staff's writers and a history of CONSUMABLE's seven years. In addition, it will look into the hows and whys of the Internet music revolution, along with a glimpse at the future of music on the 'net. Back issues of CONSUMABLE will still be archived online through the year 2002.

Distributed for free on the Internet, each of the 215+ issues of CONSUMABLE ONLINE included music reviews, interviews, news and other music-related information. The online publication's subscriber base of more than 10,000 readers and 150,000 monthly website hits, included ardent music fans, music professionals and performers.

Since its launch in 1993, CONSUMABLE ONLINE has focused squarely on the music, and offered insightful coverage of some of today's - and tomorrow's - best bands and artists in genres ranging from alternative rock to hip-hop. A pioneer of music journalism on the Internet, CONSUMABLE provided its readership with music reviews from critics on four continents. Referred to by Netguide as the "no-frills alternative music authority", the publication has received accolades from its peers, including four stars by Netguide, the four star Luckman award, named in the top 100 websites by Internetsuccess.com, a weekly selection for Best of the Net by Suite 101, "Music Site of the Day" by Tipworld.com and has been a multiple recipient of the Mining Company's "Best of The Net".

CONSUMABLE ONLINE's web service has been provided by Westnet.com, a complete Internet Service Provider for all of Westchester County, New York, which specializes in dial-up accounts, ISDN, DSL and web services. Westnet has earned the reputation of being Westchester's highest quality ISP with custom, personalized service. # # #
