I just finished reading Lee Graham Bridges' review of Lush's new album, Lovelife. I was relieved that someone else thought Lush had obviously changed their sound to attempt to sound more like the cookie cutter mainstream-dash-alternative band every label wants their band to be these days (especially when there are female vocals/guitars involved). Hearing "Ladykillers" or possibly "Single Girl" on the radio, is actually a pleasant break from Hootie, Bush, Live and other hideous "modern rock" acts. But I know what Spooky sounds like. In the context of their previous releases, Lovelife sounds like a blatant sellout, a bid to play the next Lollapalooza. What I want to know was: whose idea was this? Their's or Colin Wallace's?
