Windows 3.1 |
Windows 95
The first thing you should do is create some special directories on your
machine to hold files as you download them. This will make it easier to
remember what programs you've downloaded, which you've installed, and which
you can delete.
- From the Windows Program Manager, run File Manager
which will be located in the Main program group.
- Click on the top folder in the left column (most likely c:\).
- From the File pull down menu, select Create
Directory.
- In the dialogue box, type DOWNLOAD and then press
ENTER.
- Inside the DOWNLOAD directory, now create a TEST
directory. Simply repeat what you did before and type TEST in
the dialogue box.
You have now created directories C:\DOWNLOAD and
C:\DOWNLOAD\TEST.
- Press the Start button and select Programs. Click on
Windows Explorer.
- Highlight the C: directory in the left column.
- From the File pull down menu, select New, and then
select Folder.
- In the dialogue box type DOWNLOAD and then press
ENTER.
- Highlight the DOWNLOAD folder now and create a TEST
folder. Simply repeat what you did before but type TEST in the
dialogue box.
You have now created the directories (folders) C:\DOWNLOAD and
C:\DOWNLOAD\TEST.
